How to fund and open a Mantle prediction market position
A Mantle bridge moves funds onto the network; opening a position still means choosing a supported market, checking its collateral and submitting an order.
The Today Crypto Editors

To open a prediction market position with a Mantle bridge, first move the market’s required collateral onto Mantle, then place an order in an app that runs there. Mantle launched InsightX as a prediction market for forecasts on crypto, macro trends, sports and other events.
The bridge gets funds to the network; the market app is where you choose an outcome and take a position.
What do you need before bridging to Mantle?
You need a self-custody wallet, funds on the source network and a market app that supports Mantle. Check the app’s collateral token and the network shown in its wallet prompt before moving anything; a token with the same ticker on another chain may not be accepted.
Choose the bridge’s Ethereum-to-Mantle direction, select a supported asset and enter an amount. An ERC-20 deposit may require a separate approval transaction before the deposit itself, and both use Ethereum gas, so leave ETH in the wallet for fees. The order of a token swap can affect the route and total cost; this mantle bridge guide compares when to swap.
Wait for the deposit to complete and confirm the balance on Mantle before opening the market app. Bridging transfers an asset between networks; it does not automatically swap it into the market’s collateral or place an order.
How do you place the position?
Connect the wallet to a Mantle-native market, find the event and select the outcome you want to trade. Review the market’s wording and resolution criteria: the exact condition that settles an event determines what a winning share represents.
- Check the collateral token and available balance in the app.
- Choose an outcome and review its current price and order size.
- Check any displayed fees, price impact and minimum order before confirming.
- Sign the transaction in your wallet and verify the position appears in the app.
A share price can be read as the market’s current implied probability, but it is also the price you pay and can change before your order fills. If the app uses an order book, a limit order sets the price you are willing to pay; a market order prioritises execution at available prices, which can differ from the quote when liquidity is thin.
Some apps may sponsor transaction gas, while others require MNT for actions on Mantle. Check the confirmation screen and keep enough native MNT if the app or wallet says you need it; a bridged USDC balance alone may not cover a separate onchain transaction.
What affects the cost and exit?
The main entry cost can be Ethereum gas for an approval and deposit, plus any swap or bridge fee shown in the route. Trading costs and price impact depend on the market app and the available liquidity. Mantle transactions can cost less than Ethereum transactions, but a low network fee does not make an unfavourable price or a thin market cheaper.
You may be able to sell a position before the event resolves, subject to the market’s rules and available buyers. To move funds back to Ethereum, initiate a withdrawal through the supported route and check its timing and fees before confirming; a canonical rollup withdrawal can involve a settlement and claim process rather than an instant transfer.
For most users, the cleanest route is to bridge the asset the market accepts, avoid an unnecessary swap, and compare the full amount received after fees before trading. Treat the market’s settlement terms and the bridge’s displayed route as part of the position decision.
